Small properties which keep horses frequently feature many paddocks, which can be come bare if overgrazed or set stocking is used. Paddocks set up to suit cattle or sheep could be improved to have more suitable pasture and feature fencing that is safer for horses. There are other considerations too, such as the addition of shelter belts, shelter trees and other plantings to encourage biodiversity. By the end of this webinar, horse owners will be able to identify the features of a well-designed horse paddock and understand the benefits of incorporating the natural resources already on a property, leading to a paddock that is more sustainable and a better living environment for horses.
