World population is racing towards the 10 billion mark. Over 50% of people will live in cities and those cities are usually located on the best agricultural and bio-diverse land. To be both sustainable and resilient in the face of such dramatic change our communities will need new and novel ways to deal with issues such as biodiversity, food production, climate change adaptation, waste management and water sharing.
Come and hear renowned scientist, Professor Chris Daniels speak on the topic, ‘Why cities need nature’.
Chris Daniels is Professor of Biology at the University of South Australia. He is a prolific scientist and an award-winning science communicator. He has regular sessions on 891 ABC Radio, and has written books and articles on a range of science and environmental topics, particularly issues regarding the natural and built environments.
Chris will talk about the history and future of Adelaide as an example of an environmentally sustainable community.

When: Thursday, 16 June. 7.00pm start. Professor Chris’ presentation will go for about 90 minutes.
