The Coorong, Lower Lakes and Murray Mouth Community Revegetation Program has been fortunate to receive another year of funding from the Australian Government and the South Australian Government’s Murray Futures Program.
Community Groups from around the Lower Lakes region are invited to apply for another exciting year of planting and guarding native plants to raise money for their cause.
Many groups in the past have taken advantage of this fantastic fundraising opportunity as well as enjoying a great day in the Environment with other like-minded people.
The Project to date has planted in total 1,379,910 local native seedlings across 96 carefully selected sites, covering a footprint of nearly 900 hectares across Lake Alexandrina, Lake Albert, the Southern Coorong, the Finniss River, Currency Creek, the Tookayerta Creek and Hindmarsh Island. The project has played a significant role in supporting both the local environment and the community that were both devastated by the millennium drought.
